2017 Press Highlights
Los Angeles Times
"Arroyo Seco set a new standard for how easy festival-going should be here [Los Angeles]. It brought back fond memories of hitting shows at L.A. State Historic Park (itself also just off the Gold Line), but with all of Goldenvoice's crowd-control expertise and high-end catering."
"Part of the success of Arroyo Seco Weekend is that it was whatever you wanted it to be. If you wanted to pig out as we did, there was that. If you wanted to drink, there were craft beers, good wines and superior cocktails; if you wanted to chill by the jazz stages and feel like you were in a jazz club, no problem."
"It was a true family affair, both on stage—with little kid cameos during Jeff Goldblum's movie trivia-filled jazz set and Broken Social Scene's welcome return—and off as parents picnicked with their toddlers or brought them by a boisterous music-making tent from Kidspace"
"The festival’s design was solid, featuring enough bathrooms and free water-filling stations to satisfy the essential human needs, and with enough of an artsy touch to make it feel peaceful and welcoming"
Arroyo Seco Weekend Youth Program
As part of AEG’s community outreach initiative with Pasadena Unified School District in conjunction with Arroyo Seco Weekend at Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., AEG and Goldenvoice worked with more than 250 high school students in the Pasadena area to provide opportunities to learn about the entertainment industry. Students were exposed to the company’s many facets of the sports and entertainment industry, received advice on future career paths and were provided exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the music and art festival.
Arroyo Seco Weekend Job Shadow Day
AEG welcomed more than 30 students from Pasadena’s John Muir High School to its global headquarters in downtown Los Angeles for an afternoon in April 2017 for the first Arroyo Seco Weekend Job Shadow Day. Students received a tour of the Goldenvoice and AEG Presents offices and were paired with a member of the AEG team to get one-on-one advice, receive interviewing tips and additional workplace insight within the entertainment industry.
